About that Grey Power commercial. Yes.
About 3 weeks ago I had a discussion with a neighbour about cable TV. He had recently reactivated his cable (he phoned Shaw to reactivate his cable for the winter) - and the deal he received was great: free HD PVR rental for 6 months, and full HD programming for $19.95/month for 6 months.
Given that we'd like to watch some of the Olympics on TV, and that it's absolutely nasty-gross outside, I called Shaw to enquire about the same deal. I was met with no-end of resistance from the customer service folk, telling me there was absolutely no way they could offer me that kind of deal.About a week later, I had Carly try phoning them (she's a lot more persuasive than I am ;) ). Still no dice.
It's about two weeks later, and today, I receive a phone call from Shaw, completely out of the blue offering me a "special promotion" including free HD PVR rental for 6 months, and full HD programming for $19.95/month for 6 months. Strangely bizarre, and yet I've now ended up with exactly what I was looking for.
